Pharmacodynamics: Flunixin Meglumine Injection is a potent cyclooxygenase inhibitor with analgesic, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-rheumatic effects. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of peripheral prostaglandins or pain-sensitizing substances, effectively blocking pain impulse conduction.
Pharmacokinetics: Following a single intramuscular injection (2.2mg/kg) in pigs, the elimination half-life is 3-4 hours. Peak concentration of 2.94ug/mL is reached at 0.4 hours, with a bioavailability of 87%.
Intramuscular Injection:
- Cows & Pigs: 0.4ml per 10kg body weight.
- Dogs & Cats: 0.2-0.4ml.
- Frequency: 1-2 times daily, max 5 consecutive days.
- Withdrawal Period: 28 days for cattle and pigs.
